Want to help capture your street in view experience? Well the good news is that you no longer need a trekker. The giant of internet search engine “GOOGLE” has certified the popular INSTA360Pro as the 1st “street view auto ready” camera. This will allow anyone who owns one to contribute 360 degrees images to Google’s own immersive street level map. This new development will allow you to control the top mounted car camera of your car through the street view app and to upload directly your footage straight from insta360’s Stitcher software.
Showing its support for the program, Insta360 will be adding a 5 FPS 8K shooting mode optimizer for the street view collection. It also plans to release an optional USB accessory that is capable of automatically attaching GPS data to the footage of camera captures. The company also plans to give Google access to its roads and remote locations archives in addition—this locations includes places like Faroe Islands, where the company had to strap its cameras on sheep to provide images.
As popular tech blog (TechCrunch) noted, the camera will set users back $3499. Even though it’s not the most expensive 360-degree camera, it could still take a reasonable amount of money out of your savings. If you are willing to help, but can’t afford a Insta360 Pro of your own, you might want to check out Google’s street view loan program. The Search engine mogul is lending out some of this cameras to qualified professional photographers, travelers, non-profits, tourism boards and a couple of other organizations.
